Step 1
Lender Approval
Most lenders advise that you become prequalified for a mortgage. You can do this as much as a year in advance.
This will ensure you can afford the home you have been dreaming of and avoid any surprises when the final bids are in front of you.
Lot and Plan Selection
Before number crunching can start, you must have a clear picture of your dream home. Style, size and ‘must haves’ all need to make sure they fit on the lot you have selected.
The location of your land, and the position of your building site on it, can have a big impact on your project.
Plans can get really expensive. Stock blueprints can save you months of preparation and thousands of dollars over hiring an architect. I can work with a designer to make minor changes to the plan. And if you have a custom plan already – GREAT!
Step 2
Material Selections
Making a list of products and finishes - door style, window, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, etc. – that you would like.
Keeping your budget in mind, I will help you select what products are available in your price range.
Step 3
Step 4
Bidding
Your plan is sent out to bid specifying the products you have selected.
When comparing quotes, we will make sure that they include the same scope of work, comparable materials and finishes to make sure they are accurate.
Contract
Will include dates for starting and completion, building specifications, material lists, and will ensure that I meet all building codes.
